OUR MISSION
To help assure excellence for our student-athletes through fundraising, volunteerism, dedicated teamwork, and a guiding belief that athletic participation promotes character building with responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, and leadership. Better schools = better communities.
The Athletic Boosters raise funds through donations, corporate sponsorship, and fundraising activities (such as the sale of Blue and Gold Admission Passes, Concession Stand revenue, raffle tickets, 50/50 raffles, ‘tip jars’ and ‘change for change jars’ distributed around supportive Walkersville businesses). In 2007 alone, the Athletic Boosters donated $15,000 to the Athletic Department to be used for new softball/baseball bleachers and team benches for the stadium.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
There are many ways that you can help the Athletic Boosters:
• Become a Booster member! (see below)
• Pledge a tax-deductible monetary donation or corporate sponsorship!
• Support Athletic Boosters’ fundraising events, raffles, tip jars!
• Volunteer your (or your business’s) time, service, or goods!
• Attend our general meetings! (7 pm, second Monday of each month, Staff Development room or the classroom next to the cafeteria)
• Sign up for our mailing list! (see below)
HOW TO JOIN
Membership is open to all individuals, families, and community-minded businesses wanting to make a positive impact on Walkersville High School and the town of Walkersville. Parents of WHS athletes automatically become Booster members. Join the team by calling, writing, or clicking:
